The Book of Zechariah, a book of the Hebrew Bible and the Christian Old Testament, was probably written in the late 6th century BC. The Hebrew name Zechariah means “the Lord remembers.” Zechariah was a prophet who ministered to the people of Israel after their return from exile in Babylon. His book contains a series of visions and prophecies about the rebuilding of the temple in Jerusalem, the restoration of Israel, and the coming of the Messiah.
