Written in the late 7th century BCE, the book of Joshua tells the story of Joshua, a charismatic warrior who led Israel in the conquest of Canaan after the Exodus from Egypt. Joshua was the successor to Moses. The book shows God's faithfulness to his covenant with the Israelites to bring them into the land he promised to Abraham.
